Here at Wish, we’re always looking for ways to offer more value to both our merchants and our customers. To that end, merchants now have the ability to offer discounted shipping to customers when they purchase multiple quantities of the same product!
Merchants can now set an Additional Item shipping price, which creates a lower shipping price that applies to all products after the first product in an order. Here’s an example. Let's say you have a product with a shipping price of $5, and you set the Additional Item shipping price to $1. This means that for two of this product, the shipping price will be $6 ($5 + $1), and for three of this product, the shipping price will be $7 ($5 + $1 + $1). This helps create less friction when a customer is deciding if they want multiples of a specific product.
Setting an Additional Item shipping price is easy, too. You can do it through the Merchant Dashboard, CSV, or API. In the Merchant Dashboard, navigate to Products > View All Products, click View in the row of the desired product, and simply enter the Additional Item shipping price in the Additional Item field. For more details and instructions on setting up Additional Item shipping price via CSV or API, click here.
It's important to note that Additional Item shipping price only applies to multiple quantities of the same product. If a customer purchases two different products from your store, shipping will be charged separately. Additional Item shipping prices must also be the same or less than the primary shipping price for a given destination. If you don’t set an Additional Item shipping price for a particular product, the shipping price will increase linearly by default as it has in the past.
So why not give your customers a little extra incentive to stock up on extra of their favorite products by offering discounted Additional Item shipping price? It's a win-win!
